Ep #1: Discovering Wild Horses
March 6, 2023Ep #3: Wild Horses Live in Families
March 6, 2023There’s nothing more beautiful or more stirring than a group of wild horses streaming across the prairie, manes and tails flying in the wind, running for the sheer joy of being alive. The most important thing to remember though, is what wild horses contribute to our lands, to our hearts, and to our souls. This gift of theirs is why Congress, in 1971, passed The Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act.
Congress decreed that wild free-roaming horses and burros shall be protected from capture, branding, harassment, or death. Yet, wild horses are being culled from their homes and their families, in the tens of thousands almost every year, by the same agency charged with protecting them. At the end of this year, there will most likely be more horses in holding facilities than in the wild.
Tune in to find out how and why this Federal protection is systematically being eroded and what you can do to ensure that future generations will be able to experience the beauty and majesty of wild horses. We can help wild horses stay free, but there are no instant solutions. However, educating yourself and your friends is an excellent first step to making all of this possible, and I’m showing you how this week.

Appreciated are all the podcast. And I share them as nended.
Add wild horses did not need b l m management for centuries. They need no management nor does blm need these exorbant funds to continue to push cattle sheep industry and foreign sales of horses/burros.
It costs much more for holding facilities than leaving horses on the Range.
The cattle should be in holding facilities.
Millions of dollars have been spent that never needed spending. Contractors and blm need serious investigation…
The only guarantee is put them back on the Range. Don’t even need blm…they are not monitoring the real issues, cattle lobbyists…
