Urgent Call to Action to Save America’s Wild Horses and Burros

If Congress approves the Bureau of Land Management’s 2018 Budget Request, the 46,000 Wild Horses and Burros in holding facilities and the 46,000 Wild Horses and Burros that the BLM mistakenly calls  “excess” and are still living on the range are all in jeopardy of being killed or sent to slaughter.

This massive destruction of wild horses and burros cannot be allowed to happen.

The 1971 Wild Free Roaming Horse and Burro Act was enacted to protect these living symbols of the west, allowing them to remain free where they were found at the time the Act was passed.

Special interest groups such as the livestock industry and energy industry have a powerful voice lobbying for control of our public lands, pushing the wild horses out. It is up to us, the American public, to fight for their very lives, and for their freedom.

We can stop this, but we need to call our elected officials, our Senators and Representatives in Washington D.C. Tell them that you oppose the mass killing of our wild horses and burros and that you want Congress to maintain the ban on slaughtering them.

Currently the Budget Request is in the House Appropriations Committee.
