Some Hard Truths about the North Lander Complex Roundup
June 5, 2024Ep #35: Revisiting AWHC Wyoming Lawsuit: Interview with Suzanne Roy
June 24, 2024Have you ever wondered what a Curly horse looks like? Where wild Curly horses live and roam? What makes Curly horses so special? If so, this episode of Freedom for Wild Horses is for you.
A wild black stallion named Bubba was my first introduction to Curly horses. His mane of long, curling ringlets and his thick curling coat were amazing. He was large and heavy. Bubba reminded me of the horses the medieval knights rode. When he galloped by, chasing another stallion away from his family, I could feel the ground shake. Yet he was a very gentle guy, very kind to his mare and foals. He entranced me.
As you listen to this episode, I hope you will take action to help these special wild horses. Salt Wells Creek is one of two herds, along with the Great Divide Basin, that is slated to be zeroed out under the new land use plan. There are currently three lawsuits pending to stop this action. Yes, Curlys are rare, unique and precious. But none of the horses deserve to be removed, therefore eradicating their entire herds, simply to appease the Rock Springs Grazing Association.

About when we will hear decisions regarding the three lawsuits against zeroing out Salt Wells Creek and Great Basin Divide? What would the next steps be?
Not any time soon. The first hearing in all three cases is July 16 – just the first stage.
