Ep #13: Saving the McCullough Peaks Herd: Interview with Sandy Sisti
July 31, 2023A Tribute To Bubba, Wild Curly Stallion of Salt Wells Creek
August 23, 2023Thirty-one horses have died so far in a roundup happening in Nevada. It has been a horrifying experience for horses and their human witnesses alike. Roundups in general are disastrous and irreparably damaging experiences for our beautiful wild horses, and I’m exploring why in this episode.
The horses captured in a roundup will never see their families again. They will never again see the land on which they were born and know so well. They will be taken to holding facilities which may riddled with diseases, offered for adoption, or they may not be. They won’t have shade or shelter, and they may not get enough food; many die there. This is abuse, plain and simple, and it needs to stop.
The BLM needs to stop torturing wild horses and start humanely managing them on the range, their home, where they belong with their families. This week, I’m discussing the inhumane act of rounding up wild horses, what the “The Wild Horse and Burro Protection Act, HR 3656” is, and how you can help put an end to roundups. America’s wild horses deserve better, and we can do better.

Just found your blog, thank you so much for putting these together. Must go back and listen to the first thirteen now. Great resource for the facts along with Wild Horse Education.
Stop these horrific roundups by BLM now! These precious wild horses do not deserve this abuse…..they are icons of the west! It’s all about greed between BLM and the cattlemen and it is wrong! BLM needs to go , not our wild horses!
I just want to say thank you for all you do every one of you that try to help these horses. I am a follower of these pages and I can’t even look at them anymore I couldn’t even read your description of what was happening because I’ve seen the movie I’ve seen other things and it’s just total heartbreak complete disastrous heartbreak. I do not understand why? Something else is going on somebody must own that property I know the Chinese have been buying a lot and maybe they’re having them remove them who knows but whoever is behind this needs to stop these videos and understand why so many of us are angry
This abuse needs to be stopped immediately these animals need protection
Our horses deserve better! They have done so much for us throughout history. We would not have survived without them. They still do so much for us now. Let’s replace the worthless eagle with the wild mustangs as our nation’s symbol!! The eagle is just a turkey buzzard with more feathers
I am visiting the west now and trying to find horses and burros in Colorado. However they are high up in the mountains trying to avoid the heat. Tomorrow we head for Utah where eventually we will go to Onaqui and be guided by Jen Rogers to two different herds. We are in for the long haul although beginners. Your podcast has been informative, much too informative for a softhearted, wild horse advocate. How will I ever be able to watch a roundup? Thank you Carol.
I am horrified and disgusted by the actions of the BLM. This needs to stop now! I feel helpless against these government entities and other than writing to them and requesting these roundups be stopped I don’t know what else I can do. I’ve written many times to no avail and will continue to do so. Praying that there will be intervention by caring and powerful individuals.
I’ve owned horses and I love horses, and if I had a Ranch I would take as many as I’m allowed
I will be Praying I can’t watch, I’m so sorry. Please jeep your work going 🙏🏻
I’m all in, this should never happen in any country, especially our own. The wishes of a few greedy people get their way over the wishes of Millions of people who love horses!
Thank you for producing another excellent podcast about our wild horses on US public lands. The treatment of our wild horses and burros during round-ups is hard to hear and read about, much less see in person. Thank you to folks like you and Laura Leigh at Wild Horse Education who do the hard work of documenting what happens at these events, painful as it is. I have contacted my representatives multiple times about The Wild Horse and Burro Protection Act, HR 3656.” I can’t say I get a satisfactory response, but I will keep on voicing my opinion. The wild horses and burros deserve no less. Again, thank you.
